knit hats

Knitting is worked in rounds (the equivalent of rows in flat knitting) in a spiral. I hope you will follow my knitting instructions.

Most Western-style knitters follow either the English style (in which the yarn is held in the right hand) or the Continental style (in which the yarn is held in the left hand). Often the better yarns are provided with a range of knitting patterns leaflets. Plied yarns may themselves be plied together, producing cabled yarns or multi-stranded yarns.

Knitting may be hand made or machine made. As far as the patterns are concerned you should remember that the pattern and the ply should be the same, so use four ply yarn for a four ply pattern and Aran' yarn for an Aran' pattern. Cable needles are a special case of dpns, although they usually are not straight, but dimpled in the middle.

Get knitting! Good luck with your knitting.
