ear flap knit hat patterns

Knitting consists of loops called stitches pulled through each other. In this brief article we aim to just give a basic understanding of knitting needles, their sizing and what you need to look out for.

In weaving, the threads are always straight, running parallel either lengthwise (warp threads) or crosswise (weft threads). Take it from me, when you knit-it-yourself, it feels good! This is my version of instructions for the two basic knitting stitches but I have found that it is hard to use a few written instructions.

Some of the complicated patterns become, if not simple or easy, less intimidating once you have a few easy projects under your belt. This can be obtained with short rows or by increasing/decreasing the number of stitches. Slip-stitch knitting plays an important role in mosaic knitting, an important technique in hand-knitting patterned fabrics; mosaic-knit fabrics tend to be stiffer than patterned fabrics produced by other methods such as Fair-Isle knitting.

To do a yarn-over after a knit stitch, just bring your yarn across your work from the back to the front. Keep YOUR knitting on the "Cutting Edge" with FREE patterns.
