how to knit a mitered square

Knitting is worked in rounds (the equivalent of rows in flat knitting) in a spiral. Knitters were first believed to have begun their craft in the first few centuries AD.

I didn't know I had done something "wrong" at the time, but got many compliments on the distinctive nature of that sweater. This many take a few weeks depending on how large the blanket is supposed to be. For this reason, knitting was initially developed for garments that must be elastic or stretch in response to the wearer's motions, such as socks and hosiery.

This is because there are numerous textures of yarn and a vast array of colours to choose from. These developments made possible the shaping of hosiery and other pieces of clothing. Sock knitting machines are antiques and they are not made any more.

Although knitting may be done with ribbons, metal wire and more exotic filaments, most yarns are made by spinning fibers. The spun fibers are generally divided into animal fibers, plant and synthetic fibers.

All it consists of is knitting one row, then purling the next, and so on, and so on. You'll be amazed at how much faster the second, third, and fourth version of the same pattern can be.
