knit dishcloth patterns

The process of knitting has three basic tasks: (1) the active (unsecured) stitches must be held so they don't drop; (2) these stitches must be released sometime after they are secured; and (3) new bights of yarn must be passed through the fabric, usually through active stitches, thus securing them. When I have spent hours working on knitting a sweater, I want to make sure it looks as good after a dozen washes as it did the day I was knitting it.

Another problem is that too much knitting may lead to hand and wrist troubles; for this, special stress-relieving gloves are available. Knitters have developed methods for giving the illusion of a circular wale, such as appear in Celtic knots, but these are inexact approximations. Having a smoother surface, metal needles tend to produce faster knitting but stitches are more likely to slide off by accident.

You can knit blankets for the elderly in cold climates, "comfort dolls" to comfort children with AIDS in Africa, or hats and scarves for the homeless. The color-scheme of a yarn is sometimes called its colorway. Your mistake makes your project uniquely yours.

Yarns are grouped by thickness into six categories: superfine, fine, light, medium, bulky and superbulky; quantitatively, thickness is measured by the number of wraps per inch (WPI). Patterns for knitting provide a strong outline and foundation for starting any new knitting project. Once you learn the basics of knitting, you will want to continue progressing to more advanced stitches and knitting patterns.
